Shimba Hills Tree Lodge
Shimba Hills Tree Lodge is located in Shimba National Reserve
and is the only tree hotel in Mombasa, Coast province of Kenya.
Shimba Lodge is 48km from Mombasa Town and is 45 minutes drive
from the ferry or from Kenya’s South Coast.
 
Shimba Hills reserve is one of the last remaining habitats of
the rare Sable Antelope in East Africa, a treat you will not
want to miss. Other animals seen while on game drives from
Shimba Hills Tree Lodge are Elephants, Colobus Monkeys, Giraffe,
Buffalo and if you are lucky you may get to see Leopard. On a
clear day one can see the outline of Usambara Mountains in
Tanzania.
Apart from game viewing in the Shimba Hills Reserve when
staying at the Shimba Lodge, the park offers stunning panoramic
observation points with views sometimes as far as the ocean.
Another activity you can partake in while staying at the shimba
lodge is a walk into the National Reserve to visit a
spectacular breathtaking 82 foot waterfall with a natural plunge
pool. A shower in the cool clean waters of the fall or a dip in
the pool is quiet refreshing after the walk.
 
All accommodation at the Shimba Lodge has a balcony with
vantage points & ceiling fans overlooking the waterhole are are
divided to Standard rooms - 23 in number, 5 Triplets, Suites - 2
Suites
Shimba hills lodge has a restaurant located on a covered
verandah and it overlooks the floodlit waterhole. Jungle Bar
which opens onto an observation area overlooking the waterhole.
